Description | Bhagwan Parshwanath, the 23rd Tirthankara of Jainism, is revered as a spiritual teacher who lived thousands of years ago in ancient India. Born into a royal family, he renounced his privileged life at the age of 30 to seek spiritual enlightenment. Parshwanath practiced rigorous asceticism and meditation for 84 days, ultimately attaining kevala jnana (omniscience) under a dhataki tree. He preached the Jain principles of non-violence (ahimsa), truthfulness (satya), non-possessiveness (aparigraha), and compassion. Depicted with a serpent hood symbolizing protection from evil and a crescent moon, he is worshipped by Jains as a symbol of inner strength, self-control, and spiritual liberation.
